Mohammad

MARDOOD

O&M Manager acting EMD

Mohammad is O&M Manager acting EMD of the Abu Dhabi PV2 Energy Company (under construction), reporting to a board of directors composed by the Consortium TAQA, Masdar, EDF Renewables and Jinko Power.

 

 PV2 is the largest Solar Power Plant in the world, with 2 GW capacity; Long term PPA with EWEC; ~4 million solar panels to generate enough power for 160,000 UAE homes using advanced bifacial technology.

 

Between 2017 and 2020, Mohammad was the Construction Manager for the Sweihan PV Project Company which managed the construction of the 1177MWp solar PV project constructed in Sweihan, Abu Dhabi. The Sweihan PV Plant is currently the world’s largest solar power plant; the $870 million project was a joint international collaborative effort by Abu Dhabi Power Corporation, Japanese company Marubeni, and Chinese manufacturer JinkoSolar. 

 

Between 2008 and 2017, he was a Senior Project Manager and Construction Director for Enviromena Power Systems. Mohammad was involved in constructing the solar photovoltaic projects for the company across the Middle East and North Africa. Mohammad managed the construction of the first ever 10 MW solar PV project in the UAE in 2008. He has been involved in the power sector around the Middle East for over 14 years and is regarded to be a pioneer in constructing renewable energy projects in the region.

 

Mohammad holds a Bachelor degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering.

Muhammad

BILAL

Head of Finance

As the Head of Finance of Dhafrah PV2 Energy, Bilal is responsible for financial planning & operations, fund management, financial reporting to the shareholders and other stakeholders, audit & accounting, taxation, developing financial policies and procedures and ensure compliance to regulations and obligations. In addition, Bilal is responsible to maintain relationship with Banks including lenders & hedge providers and look after the Admin & HR affairs of the Company.  

 

Bilal brings in 18 years of experience in finance including last more than 5 years in the power sector. Prior to joining us, he was associated with ACWA Power as a D.CFO of power projects in UAE including the World’s largest power plants. Previously, he served as Head of Reporting & Compliance at CIMB Middle East. He is an ex Big 4 auditor, having worked in audit and advisory services of Ernst & Young and KPMG.    

 

Bilal is a Chartered Accountant from ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales) and a Fellow member of ACCA. He holds Post-graduation in Business Administration from London South Bank University.
