ALOBAIDLI

Director - Masdar

Chief Operating Officer

 

Abdulaziz Alobaidli has rejoined Masdar as the Chief Operating Masdar to oversee the delivery and operations of its renewable portfolio, as well as Engineering, Supply Chain, and Energy Services. Prior to that, he worked for TAQA since 2018 leadings its domestic Power and Water generation business, including a portfolio of capacity of 22.4 gigawatts and 1120 million imperial gallons per day.

 

With over 16 years’ experience in the energy and utilities business, including renewables, Abdulaziz set at the boards of directors of several generation and water desalination companies across the UAE and in the Middle East.

 

Abdulaziz pursed his interest in renewables in 2008, serving the renewables sector in different roles where he got associated with different landmark projects such as the Shams 1 CSP project, Noor Abu Dhabi PV project and recently Al Dhafra PV project.

 

Abdulaziz earned an M.Sc in Energy Engineering (specializing in power plant technology) from RWTH Aachen University in Germany and a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from UAE University. He also received the Emirates Energy Award in 2013 and was a member of the Zayed Future Energy Prize Review Committee.

Alastair

MULLIGAN

Chairman - Taqa

Director of Asset Management

Alastair Mulligan currently serves as the TAQA Group organisation’s Director of Asset Management in the Generation business line. Over the last two decades, Mr. Mulligan has cultivated extensive experience as a leader in asset management, overseeing a wide range of complex and large-scale infrastructure and utility projects.

Before joining TAQA, he held senior roles at the Dubai stock exchange listed utility National Central Cooling Company PJSC (“Tabreed”) including the role of Managing Director of Tabreed Energy Services, where he successfully led efforts to expand the organisation’s service offerings, which today include building maintenance, cooling as a service, and energy savings contracting. He also held the role of Senior Vice President Asset Management where he drove value for the business through the management of Tabreed’s contracts, business development, and joint venture management.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Finance both from the University of Queensland, Australia. Mr. Mulligan has the Certificate of Directorship from Mudara Institute of Directors.

Badour

AL QUBAISI

Director - Masdar

Mrs. Badour Al Qubaisi is a manager in the asset management department of Masdar, the UAE’s flagship renewable energy company. In her current role, she oversees Masdar’s assets at home and abroad.   

Badour is a board member in Shams power plant, one of the largest concentrated solar power plants in the world and the first of its kind in the Middle East.  She is also a board member in Al Dhafrah PV2 the world’s largest solar project. The plant, in Abu Dhabi, has a capacity of 2 Gigawatts.  Badour started her career in Mubadala in 2006 before joining Masdar.

 

She has experience of various industries, such as aerospace, healthcare and logistics. Badour holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Information Systems degree and an MBA from Zayed University. Badour was also involved in orientation training at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.  This was organized by UNITAR, Zayed University and UNDP in 2005. She also attended Women as Global Leadership conference in 2006 and the Abu Dhabi World Leadership Summit in 2005.

François

DAO

Director - EDF Renewables
Vice-President, Middle East & Africa

Francois Dao has been working in Middle East for the last 20 years in the utilities sector with large international groups like Suez, Acciona and Schneider Electric.


Francois is today in charge of EDF Renewables portfolio in Middle East and Africa totalling over 4,000 MW of solar and wind energies. With teams present in United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa and France, his responsibilities range from business development through construction, operation & maintenance and assets management. 


He has an extensive experience in power generation and distribution, water treatment as well as seawater desalination. He holds a Master in electrical engineering from Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité, France.

Olivier

CHAZALMARTIN

Director - Taqa

Director of Project Delivery and Decommissioning

Holding over 25 years of international experience within the global power generation and desalination industry, Olivier Chazalmartin today serves as the Director of Project Delivery and Decommissioning as part of TAQA’s Generation business line.

A leading expert in all manner of IPP/IWP/EPC project development and delivery, Mr. Chazalmartin previously served as an Executive Director with TotalEnergies Renewables, where he took a leading role in restructuring the organisation’s Project Execution branch towards renewable power requirements, among other achievements.

He also held the position of Executive Director of ACWA Power’s Project Execution Office, a role where he initiated and led efforts to develop and implement a centralised project management centre of competencies and oversaw a portfolio comprising up to 30 projects exceeding a combined 10GW and 600MIGD worldwide.

 

Mr. Chazalmartin holds dual engineering degrees from Polytechnique Grenoble, France, and the Electrical and Electronics Engineering School of Birmingham, as well as an MBA from the Henley Business School, where he specialised in leading project-based organisations. He is also a member of the GCC Board Directors Institute.

Mothana

QTEISHAT

Director - Jinko

A seasoned professional with more than a decade of Executive management experience and proven track record in the PV Solar Industry. Mr. Qteishat is one of the early founders of the ME solar industry successfully developed more than a 4 GW of PV IPP projects in Utility and Commercial Scale deployment.

 

Since 2015 Mr. Qteishat has been leading Jinko’s activities in the MEA including the Nour Abu Dhabi 1.2GW Project , the largest PV plant operational to date and Dafrah 2.2GW solar Project, the largest contracted/ under construction to date. In 2021 Mr. Qteishat has started also to cover the APAC region in addition to MEA.  

 

Mr. Qteishat currently Serving as Senior Managing Director – MEA & APAC, he is also a board member for Nour Abu Dhabi 1.2 GW Project Company since 2017 and a board member of Dafrah PV2 2.2GW solar power company since 2020.

 

Mr. Qteishat holds a Bsc Degree in Electrical Power Engineering - Mutah University - Jordan.

Wayne

Josselsohn

Director - Jinko

Wayne is a South African qualified corporate lawyer and is based in Cape Town. Prior to joining the Jinko group Wayne was a partner at International Law Firm, Hogan Lovells’ Johannesburg office where he specialized for 8 years in mergers and acquisitions and all aspects of commercial law in the projects, mining and infrastructure sectors.

 

Wayne is currently the Legal Director for Jinko Power’s Middle East, Africa and Asian Pacific operations.

 

Since joining Jinko in 2016 Wayne has been involved in all of Jinko’s PV Projects (since inception) including both the Sweihan (PV1) and Al Dhafrah (PV2) Projects in the U.A.E.
